Legal MENTORING

GETTING YOUR START

We all have to start somewhere and too often it’s the getting your start in the legal profession which is the hardest part. If it was not for our legal mentors and sage legal advisors Nowland Lawyers would not be the success it is today. It is for this reason, that our principal solicitor has prioritised working as a legal mentor and tutor to law students. At Nowland Lawyers we are committed to doing our part to maintain the integrity and high calibre of the legal profession.

AREAS OF LEGAL TUTORING & LEGAL MENTORING

  • Legal Profession Admission Board Students (LPAB)

  • Newcastle University Students

  • College of Law Students

  • Practical Legal Training - Legal drafting, client conferencing, Court advocacy, Court etiquette

PRO-BONO WORK & LEGAL ADVICE CLINICS

Following the lead of our principal solicitor, Nowland Lawyers undertakes pro-bono work for a select few members of our community as well as participating in free advice clinics.   The Legal Aid Commission of NSW has made significant headway in making legal representation available to the more disadvantaged members of our community.  Unfortunately, there remains clients and members of our community who fall outside of the scope of the Legal Aid Commission of NSW eligibility criteria. At Nowland Lawyers we try to do our part in bridging these gaps by offering our pro-bono services to selected members of our community. Unfortunately, we can only take on a limited number of pro-bono matters per year. It is for this reasons we only offer this service to a select few.
